Since colleges and universities started building web sites, admissions offices have wondered how to take the campus tour experience and put it on the net. Our approach arises from the fact that students come to campus to connect with the institution -- not to see buildings. So, our online campus tours use the campus itself as a stage and backdrop for people and their experiences. By tying physical elements of the campus to the words and images of the students and faculty who live there, we create the interest that gets students to visit for themselves.
Campus tour projects mix still photography, video interviews, and other video work. The projects begin with meetings that identify the memorable areas on campus and the key points that you try to get across during a 'real world' campus tour. We then determine a framework for the site (that may even be tied to a campus map) and develop a grid of shooting needs and images that will need to be collected for the final project. From there, we schedule production and gather footage for the final project.
